Krishan Kanagasabai was born in 1987 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. After leaving the Hindu College in Colombo, he worked in several private schools in different positions as an administrative assistant. Currently, he is a table tennis instructor for pupils of an elementary school in Colombo.
Due to his interest in social work, Krishan has supported many activities for capacity building (for example basic IT training and education in graphic design for youngsters) in his hometown, Jaffna. After the Tsunami and other flood disasters, he got organized with a group of youngsters in order to help affected people. The group collected food, clothes and other basic items. Moreover, he set up school trips to religious places, such as the Nallur Temple) for schools with financial constraints in the north and east of Sri Lanka.
In VisAbility, Krishan is acting as Assistant Coordinator, supporting the Country Coordinator in the set-up and execution of mixed-abled dance and disability rights workshops, and the organization of public performances. Further, due to his roots, he is the main contact person for Tamil speaking areas.
